The materials provided allow teachers to easily implement a gallery walk activity in which students analyze statements to determine if they are facts or opinions. The statements should be posted around a room or down a hallway. Then, students are asked to "walk the gallery" and label the statements as fact or opinion. Finally, students choose which facts would support various argumentative writing claims. This activity encourages engagement and scaffolding for teachers introducing argumentative writing.
