Included in this activity bundle are two types of pizza's (pepperoni and cheese) and two pizzeria menu's (One is named "Pop's Pizzeria" and the other is named "Pizzeria"). 4 total sheets.
This is the best game to teach fractions! Most students are familiar with Pizza, but might have a hard time with fractions. Before play:
Print out a pizza for everyone (cheese or pepperoni) and laminate after dividing into 1/8. Then print and laminate menu's for everyone (or at least half of the class). I use a white board marker on the menu and have the waiters and waitress's clean them during the game with a wipe. Get some cheap paper plates to use for bringing pizza back to customer. To play: Divide class into two teams (more for larger classes). One team waits on the other team for a while and then they will switch jobs. The waiters need to "check" and see if the customer has filled in the menu right. The customer makes sure the waiters have brought back what was ordered. One point for every correct order given, and one point for team for delivering a correct order to customers table. Points are only given if the customer has correct restaurant manners and same rule for the Pops' Pizzeria employees. (Make sure they know this rule before you begin...no plopping of food in front of customer, and no rude remarks for food delivered late.) That's the game and it is so much fun while learning fractions!
