This product contains 4 resources.
1. - A PDF of a pizza menu. This is an outstanding PDF of a real life pizza menu. Along with pizza's, it contains an assortment of other food items along with their corresponding prices.
2. A word document containing a number of 'orders' i.e. sums. This is designed for lower level students.
3. A word document with 'orders' i.e. sums tailored for the higher level students in your class.
4. A word document tailored for early finishers. These sums challenge children to compare prices of various orders and to decide which is cheapest and dearest.
All word documents are based around the pizza menu. Sums include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Each of the worksheets have a differing level of difficulty to tailor to differentiation within the class room.
I have been awarded first class for this lesson when inspected. The pizza menu can be placed on the interactive whiteboard for the entire class to see or you may wish to print off several copies of the menu and distribute to pairs/groups.
This resource is excellent for teaching money. As an extension to this, the resource brings a real life element to the class.
The menu can be brought forward to additional lessons where the teacher can call out 'orders' and the children must total the bill. The children can be further extended to calculate change and to compare orders - 'Which is cheapest?', 'Which is the most expensive?'
A truly great resource and lesson.
