So many of my students have following directions goals, and I am constantly looking for fun ways to engage and motivate them. What could be more fun that making pizzas?!
This activity targets one-step and two-step directions and is suitable for up to four players.
★ Four pizzas
★ Toppings for the pizzas: mushrooms, onions, peppers, pepperoni, and olives
★ One-step directions sheets - 15 directions on each card for 10 total cards totaling 150 one-step directions
★ Two-step directions sheets - 15 directions on each card for 10 total cards totaling 150 two-step directions
★ All-Star Chef cards
★ Provide each student with one pizza.
★ Cut out the toppings and provide five of each topping for each student.
★ Select the directions you would like to target and read each direction aloud.
★ At the end of the 15 set of directions, the final toppings are listed.
★ The students with correct pizzas at the end should receive an All-Star Chef card.
★ The student with the most All-Star Chef cards at the end of the session is the winner.
Note: A picture is included at the end of each set of directions as a visual to depict what each student’s final pizza should look like.
I hope your students find this activity fun and motivating!
