Categories and examples:

Mystery number
Example question: "The mystery number has a 3 in the hundreds place, a 8 in the tens place, and a 2 in the ones place. What’s the mystery number?"

What is the base ten number?
Example question: students have to look at picture showing a number expressed with base ten blocks

Expand it
Example question: Students are given a number (547) and the answer needs to be given in expanded form (500+40+7).

Skip Count
Example question: students can fill in missing numbers from a pattern or be asked what is 5, 10, or 100 more than a given number.

Write it in words
Example question: students are given the number 547 and the answer needs to be given in written form (five hundred forty seven).

A final jeopardy question is provided in case of a tie that asks the students to expand a number, write the number, and draw the number using base ten blocks.
