### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

These super hero math activities are an action packed fun way to practice second grade place value skills. What better way to practice than with characters kids enjoy. It's not just all fun and games… there is plenty of learning to be done.

There are 4 Math Centers/Games included in this resource:

Swing Through the City: A Skip Couting Activity
There are 5 levels, each level using greater amounts. They will use a spinner to see if they will need to skip count by 5's or 10's. Each strip starts them off with a number then fill in the rest based on what they spun. There are 12 strips to finish before moving on to the next color.

The 5 levels are:
Red level: numbers 1-100
yellow level: numbers 105-300
green level: numbers 305-500
blue level: numbers 505-700
purple level: numbers 705-1,000

Some states have added skip counting by 2's to their standards. I've included a 5th level just for you. There are 15 strips for them to practice with.

Aqua level: numbers 1-1,000 skip counting by 2's.

As students achieve a level they will be able to add a super hero to their game piece. A recording sheet is also included.

Write the Number Scoot
Students will work on 24 task cards dealing with number knowledge. They will either need to write the whole number in standard form, word form, expanded form or as a base ten drawing. (A recording sheet and answer sheet are included.)

I'm the Greatest: A Comparing Numbers Game
Which super hero is the greatest? Students will each chose a super hero and compare their numbers. The student with the greatest number wins the round. There are 3 recording sheets so that this game can be played 3 different ways: "I'm the Greatest", "You're the Least" and "Least or Greatest". This game can be played over and over again.

Be the Super Hero
Students will be able to work with a partner or independently. They will be able to choose their own super hero name and wear a super hero mask as they face off against other well known super heroes! (3 mask sizes available: small, medium and large.)

They will create numbers, add them, and then face off against a super hero. The winner of the round is the one with the greatest number. 2 different recording sheets are provided.

**All games and activities have detailed directions on how to play it.**

Your boys and girls are bound to have a blast! Male and female super heroes are included.
