Your students will love this kinesthetic review of place value. This activity will ask students to look at numbers written with digits or words, and numbers represented with base-ten blocks, to determine:
1) how many hundreds, tens, and ones are in the number
2) the value of each digit in that number (expanded notation)
For this activity, I have created differentiated Response Sheets.
Version 1: Only asks students to determine number of hundreds, tens, ones and then write numbers in expanded notation.
Version 2: Same as above, but students must also write numbers in written form, as well. This version aligns to Common Core Standard 2NBT.3. Includes primary writing lines.
Version 3: Same as Version 2, but uses intermediate writing lines.
This file includes:
-20 Place Value Station Cards (Cards A-J: Tens and Ones, Cards K-J: Hundreds, Tens, and Ones)
-3 Student Response Sheet Versions (see description above)
-Instructions and Tips for using this activity
-These materials also make a great center. So, I have included 3 child-friendly, center instructions pages. (3 versions: Tens/Ones, Hundreds/Tens/Ones, and Total Review).
Enjoy! Nicole Rios
