Base-10 blocks are manipulatives used to teach concepts like place value, addition, subtraction, number sense, and counting. They are an amazing resources for developing a strong foundation between the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands places. Student can manipulate the blocks in different ways to show their understanding of numbers and patterns.

We made the base ten blocks a little bit more portable for you with this number card set. We have included representations for the numbers 1-10 in unit cubes, 10-100 in rods, 100-1000 in flats, and 1000-9000 in 1000 blocks.

You can use these cards for everything that students would use base ten blocks for without the bulky clean-up.

Great for use when you are working on mastering the following Common Core standards:
2.NBT.1 Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones.
2.NBT.1a 100 can be though of as a bundle of ten tens called a hundred.
2.NBT.1b The numbers 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine hundreds (and 0 tens and 0 ones).
2.NBT.3 Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.
2.NBT.4 Compare two three-digit numbers based on meanings of the hundreds, tens, ones, digits, using inequality symbols to record the results of comparisons.
2.NBT.7 Add and subtract within 1000 using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method. Understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, one adds or subtracts hundreds and hundreds, tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds.
3.NBT.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division.
4.NBT.1 Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right.
4.NBT.2 Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place using inequality symbols to record the results of comparisons.
5.NBT.1 Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it does in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
