Place Value is an important concept in First Grade (and beyond). This Place Value Bingo game helps kids become confident with place value for numbers through one hundred.
Supports the following Common Core Standard:
CCSS.MathContent.1.NBT.B.2 Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones.
Included in this purchase are 30 Base Ten Bingo cards, 2 types of calling cards and a base ten poster for each number on the Bingo cards. Print as many or as few cards as you would like.
Here's the breakdown of pages:
Page 1: Cover
Page 2: Product Information and Ideas
Pages 3-4: Calling cards
Pages 5 - 34: Bingo cards
Pages 35 - 58: Base ten posters to match each number included on the Bingo cards.
The “teacher” calls a number and students use chips/markers to cover the numbers as they are called. If time is running out, call “Free Choice” until someone gets Bingo.
If you have plenty of time, play Cardo. Kids keep playing until they fill their entire card. When one number is left, walk around and see if kids have the correct number still uncovered. (This is a great quick assessment!)
Here's another way to use this game as an assessment ~ have kids write the numbers into their Bingo cards before playing.
Place Value Bingo works well as a whole group game. I also use this game with intervention groups. With my small intervention groups, I have kids build the number I call with base ten blocks prior to finding it on their card.
When playing with a whole group, I show the base ten poster for the number called and we count chorally as needed.
Many thanks for stopping by and taking a look! :) Anne
