This packet includes a project based 3 day plan for students to open their own Bubble Gum Bazaar to practice place value. You can either buy bubble gum or use the paper bubble gum I have provided to complete the project. Each day students will either really sell gum or will have a sheet telling them how much they sold (depending on how you want to do it). They will then use this data to write the numbers in standard, expanded, and word form. Students will also have to use subtraction without regrouping to complete this project! In addition there are suggestions about how to teach place value using the gum so that they really understand what the ones, tens, and hundreds places mean! This packet will keep kids engaged and entertained as they learn about place value.
