Students can use these place value cards to understand place value in numbers. Directions: Print the 100+ value cards in one color, the 10+ value cards in another color and the single digit cards in another color. Students can organize numbers horizontally or vertically to understand the parts of a number that comprise it. For example, to make the number 345 you would first lay down the 300 card, then the 40 card and finally the 5 card. Cards are sized so that if you overlap them with the biggest on bottom and the smallest on top the number will read as it should. For example, if you lay down first the 300 card, then lay the 40 card on top and aligned on the right, and then lay 5 card on top and aligned on the right, the number will read 345.
