I created these cards so that students could practice identifying the place and the value of given digits within a larger number. One side of the card has a number with one bold digit and one underlined digit. The other side of the card asks the student to tell the place and the value of both the bold and underlined digits. This helps students to see the difference between the place of a digit and the value of a digit. You can use this with the classroom as a cooperative learning activity or in small groups or math centers.
