Place Value Craftivity - Place Value Candy Corn
Get your students working with place value with this fun candy corn craftivity. You can use this activity as a whole group lesson (modelling how to answer one panel fully for the whole class), as a math center activity, math workshop, or early-finisher activity. Finished craftivities make a great display!
Each panel focuses on a different number – one answer is given, and from there, students need to write their answers in the blank sections. For example, if the number is written in words, students need to fill in the standard form of the number, as well as the expanded form.
This resource contains two versions – a U.S. version with commas in the numbers (pages 5 – 8), and a Canadian version with spaces instead of the commas (pages 9 – 12). Print only the version you need. You need 6 individual panels to create the craftivity. I have included the 6 panels plus a blank template in case you wish to add your own number (actually – two blank templates – one with headings and one completely blank) – the blank template can be used to add your own question, or use as a cover page in case you want to assemble the craftivity into a flip-book format rather than a 3D resource.
A rubric and answer page are also included for formative or summative assessment.
This craftivity is included in my Fall Math Craftivity Bundle which contains two different Fall-themed craftivities.
