This place value activity requires students to work in pairs to create the largest number. The first activity requires the students to roll the dice to determine their numbers, then they record their answers on the worksheet and circle the bigger number. After they have completed six comparisons, they choose the largest three and add them. They then compare their numbers to see who has the higher number. Finally, they add up ALL of their numbers to see who has the higher number. It is not always the same winner so it keeps the students interested! The second activity requires the students to think about place value but also add, subtract and multiply with decimals. It's a lot of fun and keeps the students thinking! There are two self reflection questions upon completion. Enjoy!
