This activity helps students realize that digits placee in different place value position have different value. The object of the game is to make the largest number by placing the digits rolled by the dice in one of 4 to 7 boxes. The teacher rolles a 9 sided dice, the number rolled is placed in one of the boxes. After all the boxes are filled the teacher calles out the highest number that could be created by the digits rolled. The students that have the highest number get 2 points, all other numbers get 1 point. The game ends by adding up all the points. The student with the most points wins.
