Included in this download is a set of flashcards for the kids to fill out and then quiz each other with. One side of the flashcard says something like "9 tens and 6 ones" and they need to write the number form on the other side. They can fold it in half and quiz their partner. There are also many blank ones for them to create their own flashcards once they get the hang of it.
Also included is a sheet for an interactive notebook. Cut on the lines and make flaps. You glue the spine and the sides flip up and the answer goes under the flap on their notebook.
There is also a flip chart to glue in your interactive notebook that helps kids understand VALUE. I made it and used it this week and they FINALLY understood what value actually means and were able to tell me the value of a given underlined digit. Something that was so hard before became so apparent for them. They loved writing in their own big number on the flaps and of course cutting and gluing it.
Simply have them cut out the bottom rectangle (with the zeroes) and glue onto their notebook. Then, glue on the box that says "glue in this box" (haha) and paste the second rectangle directly on top. They write their own six digit number on the flaps and when finding the value of a specific digit, they lift up all the flaps to the right to reveal the zeroes.
