This product consists of mats that can be used to play a place value game. These mats can be used to play a place value game that Marilyn Burns discusses on p. 290 in her 2007 book About Teaching Mathematics. The mats can be cut apart and laminated or put in protective sleeves. Students can use dry erase markers to record the numbers on the mat.
Directions: A player spins the spinner or rolls the die. Each player then records that number in one of the spaces on their mat. Once the space are filled up, the student with the largest number and who can read the number correctly wins that round. Students can keep a tally of how many rounds they win.
