In this fun game, students will use place value to compare numbers through the hundred billions place.
The goal of the game is to create the greatest number.
In pairs (or teams of two), students will take turns drawing a digit out of a bag. That student (or team) will decide which place value they would like to place that digit in on their game board (2 versions of game boards included).
Play continues until both students (or both teams) have filled in all of their game board spaces with a digit (12 digits total).
The student (or team) with the highest number wins the round!
In order to get students reading (and verbally saying the number) have them use the following sentence stem to identify the different place values: I drew the number _____. I will place the number ____ in the ________ place.
Example: I drew the number 9. I will place the number 9 in the hundred billions place.
