Description

Tired of place value worksheets? Try this place value game to make practice more fun! These versatile cards can be used in many different games for extra practice and math centers. Your students will have so much fun they'll beg to play the games!

Save 20% by purchasing this as part of a Base-Ten War Bundle, or a larger Place Value Games Bundle.

The Base Ten War game helps students practice place value using a twist on the traditional card game, "War." Instead of comparing numbers, players count the base-ten (or place value blocks) on their cards and the player with the largest number wins the hand!

Base Ten War with Exchanges requires students to count block sets with more than ten in ones blocks - so students need to make a trade/exchange. The game features numbers up to 100.

The base-ten blocks represent each number two ways: one with the "proper" number of longs and cubes and one set requiring exchanges (for example, 34 might be represented with 2 longs and 14 cubes.) This helps students develop the flexible thinking about place value that is required for regrouping and borrowing as they add and subtract double-digit numbers.

This math game includes

  • directions
  • 72 fully-colored game cards, featuring a combination of base-ten blocks and numerals to 100
  • 3 place value practice pages (in English and Spanish)

This game set is versatile. You can play numerous games with the cards, including:

  • Place Value War
  • Matching Game/Concentration
  • Go Fish
  • Bang!/Kaboom!
  • Trail Game
  • Guess My Number
  • Old Maid

Directions are included for each of these games. There are also storage labels for photo boxes and soap boxes.

There are several more fun place value activities in my store. Take a look!
