This is a simple game you can use to introduce or continue practicing place value with your class. It really helps students to physically make sense of place value.
-Base Ten Blocks (Ten Sticks and One Cubes)
Student rolls the number cube and places as many individual one cubes in the tens area as they rolled. With each roll, the student will add ones until the spaces are full. The star space will cue the student to get a ten-stick and put it in the "tens" box.
This activity can be done individually or with partners. You can also laminate the mats to reuse!
