Students can use this place value game independently or with a partner to better understand the value of numerals in a larger number. These differentiated place value sorting cards and worksheets are perfect for math centers! When sorting the numbers, students identify the value of the underlined number ranging from the to hundred thousands, helping them to solidify their understanding of what place value means.
This set includes the following different sorts (8 in all):
•two sorts for ones, tens, and hundreds
•two sorts for ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands
•two sorts for ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, and ten thousands
•two sorts for ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, and hundred thousands
Each sort includes 24-27 cards. Color-coded cards make them easy to sort, although a black-and-white copy of each sort is also included to save ink. A recording sheet and answer key are also provided for every sort.
Additionally, the set includes 8 place value practice pages, two each for each level used in the sort, perfect for differentiating! One set of practice pages is a cut-and-paste sort, one at each level. The other asks students to write the value of the underlined number.
