Teach place value playing with a deca die (10 faces with numbers 0-9). This fun and interactive game allows students to create large numbers to the 100’s, 1000’s, 10,000, 100,000, and millions. The object of the game is for students to take turns rolling the deca die and try to compose the greatest number possible. At any time during the round, a player may reject a digit rolled and not use it to compose their number. They can only do this once, so the next digits rolled must be used. Students practice place value, comparing numbers, and writing numbers in standard form.
Included with the sheets, are two 24x14 math communication guides to help students write what they learned during this game or any math lesson. There are a total of 10 sheets to practice composing numbers up to the millions.
I've included a sample of a finished game as one of the previews
