This place value unit can be used in conjunction with activities surrounding the summer games or on its own as a place value exploration for students. You may choose to hold your own competition within your classroom as each game has a score option, or just play for fun! Use the included game posters to direct your students as they complete each game in their personal booklet.

It includes five fun and interactive games:
One-Handed Cube Grab- Your students will practice their estimation skills by estimating how many ones cubes they can grab in a single hand.
Stack Em’ Up- In this game, your students creativity and engineering skills will be sharpened as they create a tower of tens rods within a one minute time limit. They will also practice counting by tens as they determine the value of their final tower design.
Bullseye- A fast paced number building game where students race to create a given number with place value blocks before their opponent.
Guess My Number- Your students will love trying to solve these number riddles using the included number cards.
Race to 1000- A dice game that will challenge your students to strategically use their knowledge of place value to reach 1000 without going over.
