Review place value math concepts with students with these fun St. Patrick's Day themed activities!
- Place value gold pieces (blackline and color)
- Double-sided place value building worksheet
- Place value chart (hundreds, tens, and ones)
Ideas for Use:
Place Value Chart Practice
Have students cut out the place value pieces. Hand out a place value chart to each student. Ask students to build certain numbers by placing the place value gold in the correct column. Have students “clear the board” to make the next number.
Place Value Building Sheet
Have students cut out the place value pieces. Students should complete the “St. Paddy’s Day Gold: Place Value Building” sheet by gluing or taping the correct place value gold in each box to build that certain number. This could be used a seatwork, morning work, or homework.
*Note! If you want to do both activities mentioned here, do the place value chart one first! Otherwise, students will have already glued down their place value gold! :)
