Place Value: I'm Thinking of a Number - Set 3
This is the third of six different sets of "I'm Thinking of a Number Cards" to use when teaching place value. This set uses 2 digit numbers and includes comparing numbers, odd and even numbers and differences. Clues may have one solution, multiple solutions or no solution.
I use the cards in a small group at first and have them build the number on a place value mat with base ten blocks. We discuss how they determined the number from the clues. Students may use a hundreds chart instead of the base ten blocks.
When the activity is moved to a center, students shuffle the cards, draw one card, build the number on their place value charts and then record it on the response sheet.
Included are thirty-two clue cards, a place value mat with tens and ones, a hundreds chart and a student response sheet.
