This Place Value Match Up game is Common Core aligned to CCSS.Math.Content.4.NBT.A.2. This is a great activity for upper elementary students when teaching place value.
This match up game is great for independent or partner centers. Included in set is a student direction page with visuals for lining up the cards, big “header” cards for standard form, expanded form, word form, and quick draw/picture form. There are 12 different sets of number matches ranging from the hundreds to the thousands. The cards mix ability levels, as some cards have the same numbers but in different place value spots. I have also included a sheet of blank cards for you to run copies so students can draw each one if you choose. There is also a student accountability sheet (2-sided) for them to record their matches, as well as an answer key for the teacher or for students to self-check upon completion.
CCSS.Math.Content.4.NBT.A.2 Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
