Description

The Kindergarten Common Core standard for place value states that kindergarten students can compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones. This is the standard that I addressed when creating this set of 10 hands-on place value activities for young learners. This set includes 10 hands-on activities in both color or black and white. These activities can be used as morning math tubs, or they can be placed in your math center during center time.

Do you use morning math tubs or math centers in your classroom? This set is the 9th of 10 sets that I will be releasing in the upcoming year. This set of morning math tub activities includes activities that reinforce place value for young leaners. Your students will love this hands-on set of 10 morning tub activities.

Why use morning tubs?

Morning tubs are perfect for young learners! They are independent activities that can be completed in a small amount of time as your kids are arriving in the morning. They can be completed without teacher input so that the teacher can take care of those morning tasks (attendance, lunch count etc.) There are no worksheets involved, which saves the teacher time and energy trying to get it all completed, collected, and checked first thing in the morning.

I have provided these morning tub activities in both COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE. I have also included an instruction sheet with each activity for your kids to use as a reference. They simply look at the picture to see what to do!
