This set of 360 9-step cards helps to teach place value by breaking down the learning process needed to transition into reading and understanding quantities of numbers up to 4-digits. These cards can be used to give children practice when learning to read and say numbers properly. They can also be used for number composition when needing to make quantities of written numerals with either the Golden Beads in Montessori schools or the base 10 blocks in traditional schools.
The first set of cards contain 40 two-digit, 40 three-digit, and 40 four-digit number cards that are color coded with the Montessori place value colors and each numeral is labeled with units, tens, hundreds, or thousands. An entirely separate set is included if you choose to print out cards labeled with “ones” for traditional schools instead of “units” used in Montessori schools. The second set of 120 cards has the same 2, 3, and 4-digit numbers but the place value words have been removed, yet each numeral is still color coded. The third set of cards has the same numbers with no place value labels and all numerals are written in black to lead further into abstraction.
