This is a fun, interactive activity that will allow students to practice rounding whole numbers and decimals!
Students will ROLL dice. They will create a number with the die rolled by putting the dice in order and verbally telling their partner what their number is. Next, they will draw the top card off of the pile to see which place value they will be rounding to (cards included in activity). Student will ROUND the number accordingly, and WRITE their new number on their white board. I have students play this game with partners as an accountability piece and they love it! I always introduce/play this game in a small group setting first to make sure students understand how to play the game.
This is an ENGAGING activity because it allows students to create the number based upon what die they roll. This activity not only allows them to practice rounding, but allows them to analyze heir partner's work; putting their knowledge to the test!
