Mix it up a little and have some fun reviewing your place value unit with this “print and go” scavenger hunt. Play some fast tempo music or set the timer to get kids pumped up for the challenge. Post the 20 Place Value Scavenger Hunt task cards around the room or hide them to increase the challenge. Either way, students will have fun while solving these place value math problems as an end-of-unit review. This lesson was designed with fifth graders in mind; however, it can be used for fourth graders needing a challenge or sixth graders needing a review. Through this unit, students will practice the following skills: (1) compare and order whole numbers through millions (2) represent fractions that name tenths, hundredths, and thousandths as decimals (3) place value through the thousandths, and (4) compare and order whole numbers and decimals.
