This document is very helpful in helping identifying where students are working within the concept of place value. I am head of the RTI committee at my school and we use this document to help create progress monitoring goals for students who are working below grade level. The checklist is printed out for the individual student and followed closely until the student is working at grade level. This checklist is also helpful in our cross-grade level collaboration. I am a 5th grade teacher who often ventures down to third grade to borrow resources to help my students work their way to 5th grade. Parents also appreciate this checklist because it provides an overall picture of where their child is working in the grand scheme of things.
