This file contains 4 Place Value Sliders; one for 3-digit numbers, 4-digit numbers, 5-digit numbers and 6-digit numbers. The sliders are designed to help your students understand numbers, their place value and how to add and subtraction 1, 10, 100 and 1000, 10000 and 100000, as well as multiples of these numbers.
Laminate the sheets and cut them out. Using a cutting board, stanley knife and ruler (to direct the blade in a straight line), slice along the dotted lines on the 'slide' bars. Finally, insert the number strips through the cuts to create your Place Value Sliders.
Please note: the page in the file that contains the sliders for 'tens of thousands' and 'hundreds of thousands' (page 7) needs to be printed on A3 paper. Everything else in the file (including the number strips that go in the 'tens of thousands' and 'hundreds of thousands' sliders) should be printed on A4 paper for the sliders to work. The strips that go in the 'tens of thousands' and 'hundreds of thousands' sliders are on page 8 of the file. These are a different size to the other number strips. If you are only interested in the 3 and 4-digit sliders, please only print pages 1-6 on A4 paper.
