Students need many opportunities reading and writing numerals in multiple ways. This packet provides just that! This workstation by Teacher 2 Teachers provides students practice with multiple representations of two and three-digit numbers. This packet consists of 4 sets of 20 cards. Each set includes numbers shown in standard form, unit form, expanded form, and base ten form. Sets A and C are basic representations. Sets B and D are more difficult and include regrouping such as 5 tens and 14 ones to represent 64. These sets help to build deeper understanding of our numbers base ten system. They understand that 10 ones make one ten and that 10 tens make one hundred.
The cards can easily be utilized during your instruction as well. For example two cards can be selected and students have to compare the numbers based on the meaning of the tens and ones.
