Practice important place value skills with these versatile task cards. This resource includes 30 task cards for students to practice place value concepts including: representing numbers with base-10 blocks, drawing base-10 blocks to represent numbers, identifying numerals in 3-digit numbers, and forming numbers from given digits/places. These cards can be used in several different ways:
A fast-paced, whole class activity where students travel from desk to desk to answer the questions on the card.
Around the Room:
Like a scavenger hunt, post the cards around the room for students to find and answer.
Put the cards at a center for students to solve.
I have included a variety of recording sheets so you can use as many or as few cards as you’d like. For example, you could put 10 cards out at a time and have 3 different centers. Or if you have 20 students, you could play Scoot with the first 20, and then use the last 10 for Around the Room. It’s up to you to decide how you want to use the task cards!
