Common Core Aligned to the American State Standard: 2.NBT.1 for Grade 2 and to the National Curriculum in England for Year 2
American State Standard: 2.NBT.1 for Grade 2: Understand place value. Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens and ones: ex. 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens and 6 ones.
Students learn to recognize place value from the ones to the thousands place.
Students learn Place Value with Expanded form and the Written Names of Numbers.
Answer Sheets are Included for students to record their answers.
Answer Keys are Included for you to quickly take up the answers with students individually or as a class.
I recommend laminating the task cards so that you can continue to use them year after year.
The task cards are great for early finishers and for math centers.

Task cards can be used in a variety of ways:
• In a center / centers
• In a small group / small groups
• Set up around the room for students to walk around and write their answers on the answer sheet / recording sheet
• Scavenger Hunt style. Students have to look around the classroom to find the cards and answer the questions
• In groups. Groups get a certain amount of time to answer the questions on the task cards and then pass the questions to the next group
• A game of Scoot
