My students absolutely love using math task cards during our math workshop time. Each rotation last between 15 and 20 minutes. I have created these activities to use during this time. They are also perfect for small groups, independent practice, and scoot. Students usually have mastered the skill or are close to mastery when working on the these activities.
I have included a place value chart, cover sheets with directions for each set of cards, 9 sets of cards (a total of 148 cards in all), student recording sheets, and answer keys.
You will find the following sets of cards:
base ten blocks
base ten blocks with regrouping
comparing whole numbers
rounding whole numbers
ordering whole numbers
I suggest printing the student direction pages in color (They do look fine printed in grayscale.), laminating them and attaching each one to the front of a 9x12 envelope. Print the cards in color or in grayscale on color cardstock, laminate, and cut for student use. Place the cards in a Ziploc bag and keep them and the recording sheets inside the 9x12 envelopes.
Take a look at the free preview to see some of what is included.
I have several other place value task cards in my store. They can be found here
