Product Description

Recognizing groups of tens and ones represent numbers is often tricky for young children. I have found that my students will often understand it using base tens blocks, then not transfer that understanding to groups of objects or ten frames.

This product was created to give your students practice in seeing that a 2 digit number represents amounts of tens and ones. These poke cards show tens and ones with base ten blocks, groups of objects, and ten frames. Students will count the groups of tens and ones then find the answer. They poke a thin stick through the hole and turn the card to the back to self correct.

These cards have been a high interest activity in my classroom. I have enjoyed watching my students find the answers then turn to the back for immediate feedback. If they were incorrect, I would watch them turn back and relook at the problem on the front. My class used these cards over and over.

These cards are super easy prep and an activity your kids will want to do again and again! They are definitely a class favorite!
