This download will give students the opportunity to study place value using their very own “toolkit”! Each toolkit will provide students with a hands-on approach to practice representing numbers using base 10 blocks, standard form, expanded form, and word form. The toolkit can be used for numbers ranging from 0 - 999,999 (hundred thousand place).
How to Use:
Give students a number. Students will need to create that number by placing the digits in the correct place value pocket at the bottom of the toolkit. Then, students will need to use a dry erase marker to fill out the rest of the information related to the number (base-10, standard form, expanded form, word form). I let students draw the information in the base 10 section but you could also allow students to use real base 10 blocks instead.
Meets CCSS: 3.NBT.1 and 3.NBT.2
