Ways to Write Numbers and Place Value practice for second and third grade based on Common Core Standards and Envision Math. This Place Value set focuses on the four different ways to write numbers: Models, Standard Form, Expanded Form and Word Form. In these activities, students learn to convert from one form to the next effortlessly. They also learn to recognize the place value of digits in numbers from ones to hundred thousands. There are a variety of question types to make children think a little differently to get to the same conclusion. These make a great addition to station work, independent work or whole group lessons. These are not just random projects I have created, I use them in my very own third grade classroom and can vouch for them. These are also great for test prep and end of the year review. These are also great for any EnVision Math users- these activities coorelate greatly with Topic 1 in the third grade Math EnVision textbook.
Included in this 27 page Place Value set you will receive:
-13 pages of place value and ways to write numbers questions- these questions come four to a page. They can easily be cut apart and used as task cards. I personally use them as part of whole group lessons in my class and have students write the answers on their marker boards.
-2 independent or partner activity pages where students are responsible for showing how to write numbers four different ways: standard, expanded, word and models.
-a 2-page place value assessment- perfect for the end of the unit
-a take-home "ways to show numbers" craftivity. My students love making this in class. It's a nice break from the traditional paper and pencil projects. I have them take it home to use as a study guide and allow them to use it during the test.
-4 anchor charts to help students remember the different ways numbers can be written. I like to keep these charts on display in my classroom for students to refer to as needed.
I have many more math products available in my store, A Pocket Full of Posies. I would love have you follow me and your feedback is always welcomed and appreciated. Thank you!
