Place value is a very important skill to practice and review throughout the year. It is the foundation of a strong mathematical understanding in students. These task cards will provide a fun way for students to review place value during the winter months.
All activities are included in color & black and white. All answer keys are included.
***No Christmas icons included. Reindeer, bunnies, snowflakes, foxes, and acorns are used to provide a classroom-friendly resource.
Six Activities Included:
Reindeer Games - Students match the expanded form to the standard form to form a reindeer.
What does the fox say? - Students determine the number by adding tens to the number. For example: What number is 30 greater than 54?
Snowflake Signs - Students compare numbers using greater than, less than, or equal to symbols.
Snow Bunny Skip Count - Students skip count to find the missing numbers in the sequence. They write the skip counting rule for each set of numbers.
Gathering Acorns - Students choose a task card and follow the directions on the card. Each card asks students to use place value in a different way. For example: What number is in the hundreds place? Round the number to the nearest ten.
Place Value Mats - Three different place value mats are included. These can be used with manipulatives in small group or in math centers for students who need more practice. Just print and laminate (or slide it into a sheet protector)!
