PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson is meant to challenge gifted and talented students within a cluster or self-contained classroom. General education students will also benefit for this higher depth of knowledge activity.

Students will either research or read the provided informational text about the history of U.S.'s economics to create opinions about whether the United States should get rid of money in place values smaller than 1 (coins). They will also have to decide whether we should bring back bills larger that the hundreds place value ($1,000 and $10,000).

Once sides have been chosen, students will reach level 5 of Bloom's Taxonomy by debating their ideas as either a whole class or in small groups as a panel.

Students will then reflect on their learning and choices during the wrap-up to the activity.
