Use these templates to make custom placemats for your students. Use to model and facilitate language during snack time. You get 2 placemat templates; one with "I want" and one with "I" + "want" pictures. I have also included a blank template to make extra copies of the food pictures if you choose to attach them to the board with Velcro. Add the child's name to the plate if you wish. Download images to your computer and import them into the template.
Print, glue onto cardstock (or I print on sticker paper), and laminate. Use as a one-piece board the child/student points to in order to make requests. Or you can print, laminate, and cut out individual food pictures to attach to the board (either to blank spaces or to matching pictures on the board). The child can hand you a picture or put a piece of Velcro next to the "I" "want" or "I want" picture so the child can move the picture up to make a sentence.
***In order to edit you will need to have a PDF editing software program such as the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. However, I have a Mac computer and this program turns many (but not all) of my png images black, so I have to use jpg images when using this particular program. I also have to make sure they are saved as .jpg (versus .jpeg).
