# Plan Thanksgiving Dinner - A Differentiated Mini-Math Project

Product Description
Give your students a real-world experience with math by letting them plan and shop for their own Thanksgiving dinner this year!

Start off by engaging them and letting them choose the 10 people they are going to invite to dinner - bonus points if you let them invite their favorite celebrities...you'll have them engaged in seconds! ;)

This activity is differentiated with two different menus for your students. The circle menu has students working with simple one and two digit numbers (ex: \$3, \$22, etc.). The square menu presents a challenge with three digit numbers (ex: \$5.75) AND includes serving sizes. The recording sheet for this looks different because students must make sure they have enough dishes that everyone on their guest list will be fed. It's a great challenge for your students that can handle it!

*BUT WAIT! ARE YOU LOOKING FOR MORE?!*
•This activity is a small sample of the larger "Plan a Thanksgiving Weekend" PBL Math Enrichment pack. If you'd like to extend this activity, I suggest checking out the "Plan a Thanksgiving Weekend" pack here- students will practice measurement, addition, counting coins, problem solving, and much more.
•Extend this activity into ELA by having your students create an invitation for their guests. Check out the Thanksgiving Invitation Writing Extension!
