It is a good review of skills such as multi-step multiplication, real world multi-step problems, multiplication of decimals, division, critical thinking, and problem solving.
It allows students to plan their own Thanksgiving feast for as many people as they choose. It walks them through how much food they need and the cost of their foods of choice.
There are spaces for students to choose five side dishes in addition to the main dish (turkey). It could easily be adapted to require more or fewer side dishes depending on ability level or available time.
It is aligned to the common core math standards for fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, and I believe it would be appropriate for each of these grade levels with different amounts of scaffolding.
