Description
Students will apply real world research and writing to plan an exciting trip for summer, or any time. Great for engagement at the end of the year.
Destination can be local or distant. Students will research things to do and the cost of each activity. With this information, they'll create a project to advertise and persuade others to go, too.
This activity implements real-world research and writing. Students will research locations for a planned trip and then use persuasive writing (advertising). Many people and families plan a trip by including research into the location for ideas and costs.
For this project, students will need access to the internet. Limited access can be fine—students can research on cell phones or trade computer time for research and/ or printing. Images can be drawings or photos.
**If internet is not available at all, it may be possible to instead have students research local places by visiting in person to create their trip and advertisement. Locations may be free or even “off-the-beaten path” like a local swimming hole or a secret ruined building or a favorite restaurant—caution students to be safe when researching on foot or in-person.
