If you are teaching about the PLANETS you are in luck! This bundle of resources includes a lesson plan, PowerPoint, student notes, practice questions and formative assessment pieces – which are completely editable. This lesson bundle also includes a digital literacy activity! I’m sharing my love of Astronomy with you, in hopes that your students will love it too!
Student learning goals for the Planets Lesson:
• define "planet", and compare features of terrestrial planets and gas giant planets
• develop an understanding of the differences between the 8 planets of the solar system, in terms of size, location, composition, orbital period, rotation period, number of moons, etc.
• compare different methods of studying planets (e.g. telescopes, space probes, landers and rovers)
Note: This is a longer lesson, it may take up to 3 days to complete all activities depending on the duration of your science class.
