Getting to Know the Planets packet includes important vocabulary, two hands on games/activities, a project, and a quiz with the answer sheet. Getting to know the Planets lets the students explore the characteristics of the eight planets through hands on activities.
Match the Clue to the Object:
This activity lets the students explore the characteristics of the eight planets through a hands on activity. The teacher will use objects she has available that sound like the clue given about the planet. The students will read the clues and try to figure out which clue matches each object. By doing this activity students will learn about the characteristics of each planet without doing a worksheet.
Place the Planet in Order:
Students will use the clues given to place the planets(items/objects) from the previous activity into the correct order from the Sun.
Make a Solar System Hat:
Students will make a hat using pictures and facts about the planets.
Students will take a quiz over the planets and their order from the Sun.
