This is a lab sheet for observing marine plankton. To use it, you will need microscopes and slides for the following: centric diatom, pennate diatom, dinoflagellate, foraminiferan, radiolarian, copepod and a larval stage of either a crab zoea, an barnacle naupilus or a mollusc veliger larva. It gives an introduction to the various plankton and spaces for drawings with suggestions of structures to label. I do not include any diagrams or photographs, as these can easily be found on the internet or in a book. My students use their books to help label, and I also give an introduction to what to look for on the board before they start.
