Product Description
This student organizer is to help you help your student to get organized, develop good study skills and develop a growth mindset.

UPDATED 2016-2017 and 2017-2018

Start the year off right teaching your students to improve their metacognition!

Students will organize their homework & projects, analyze how to successfully complete them, take proper notes for effective study, discover their core values, align their values and goals, track their progress, think about their thinking, and be self motivated to stay on track!

Perfect for anyone providing ACADEMIC COACHING to middle and high school students.

Metacognition is fundamental to knowing who we are. We only really know ourselves when we understand how and what we think. How reliable are our thought processes? How accurate is our knowledge of a particular subject?

Metacognition is important for school and life success! Give your students a head start!!

By purchasing this planner I promise you 100% satisfaction. If you need anything changed around, let me know and I will work with you on it. Plus, each year I will change the dates to update, so each year you will have a new copy of the organizer with new resources that I add to it -- NO EXTRA CHARGE, ever! Also, if you have an idea to add to this planner, just send me your idea, I will design it and it to the download.

((NOTE: Pages 36-114 Archived Copies of Years 2013-2015))

Putting the Organizer Together
-I like to use a one inch binder to help my students keep organized. Print off a cover that you like and put it in the front sleeve of the binder. Make sure to print the “belongs to” and calendar page and put them in the front.

-Print off a checklist for the standards you will be covering for the year and include them in the binder.

-Print out and review the learning contract with your student.

-Introduce the Effort and Achievement rubric.

-Prepare the planner, have the student fill in there courses, class schedule, and dream team. A dream team member can be tutors, peers, etc. that the student can get in touch with for help.

-Agenda pages for the week. Print out as many as needed for the school year.

-Homework & Project Planning, Task Analysis: This is so important! After your student is in the habit of writing their homework down, it is time to teach them how to approach there homework. These sheets will help your student understand how to break an assignment and project up so that they are not overwhelmed. (Sample is included)

-Understanding homework & Strategies: Sheets for introducing blooms, learning strategies and growth mindset help your student understand that school is a system. Learning is a system. This metacognitive approach will help them see the big picture and understand how their daily habits will help them in the long term.

-Tracking Grades: This sheet will solidify how effort and achievement are related.

-Note taking Graphic Organizers: Textbook/Article/Nonfiction, Class Notes, Class Mindmapping, Novel & short story, Math

-Wheel of Life (value & goals): Helps them understand the impact of their choices. Excellent back to school activity.
