This .zip file contains materials for middle school science lessons on plant adaptations in relation to the biomes they are found in, as part of a unit on biomes and evolution. The unit was designed for 6th graders in NYC.
2 full lesson plans
2 SMARTboard .notebook lesson presentations (in one file; 12 slides total). The 2nd lesson involves reviewing and discussing the lab from the previous day.
1 lab sheet with instructions, data tables, and scenarios for each of the 4 plants. You will need cacti, flowers, and branches from leaf-losing trees and pine trees to implement this lab as is.
1 homework assignment
Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson. Presentation includes links to related YouTube videos to increase student engagement (I can help you use YouTube videos in your class, even if your network blocks such sites, just ask).
'Ask a question' if you need a PowerPoint file instead of what is provided, and I can probably re-upload everything with an adjusted file. Or visit smarttech.com to download Notebook software for free.
